Shory Group (“Shory”), a First.Tech company and the leading AI Insurtech firm in the region, has announced its sponsorship of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security’s (ICP) collective wedding initiative, contributing AED 1 million in support of the program.

The mass wedding ceremony was held on Thursday, 30 April 2026, at Mohammed bin Zayed City Majlis in Abu Dhabi, in cooperation with the Ministry of Family. The event took place in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs and Chairman of the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council, under the patronage of His Excellency Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi, Chairman of ICP.

Organized as part of the “Year of the Family 2026” initiative under the theme “Growth and Belonging,” the ceremony brought together 60 grooms from ICP employees and their families. ICP’s collective wedding initiative supports young Emiratis by reducing the financial burden of marriage and fostering community cohesion, in line with the “Usrati” program which offers integrated family services.

Shory’s contribution reflects its commitment to community wellbeing and its close strategic partnership with ICP – one that continues to play an important role in advancing shared goals that support the UAE’s social fabric and national priorities.

Aoun Al Smadi, CEO at Shory, said: “At Shory, we believe in being an active participant in the communities we serve. Our collaboration with ICP is an important part of that commitment, and we are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that directly strengthen the social fabric of our country. We would also like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the couples, and wish them a future filled with happiness, stability, and shared success. Through initiatives like this, we aim to contribute meaningfully to our country and support the continued strength and cohesion of its society.”

In recognition of this contribution, Aoun Al Smadi was honored for Shory’s support of the Collective Wedding Initiative. The recognition was presented by His Excellency Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, during a ceremony acknowledging the company’s role in supporting the initiative.
