Description: Every Childhood Has A Story is a community engagement contest campaign inviting individuals aged 18 years and above to share a meaningful memory from their childhood. Participants may submit either a childhood photograph or photograph of an object/place/building… that holds sentimental value and represents a memorable phase of their early life, along with a brief description of the story or memory associated with it. The stories need to be shared on Instagram or TikTok with relevant tags and hashtag. The campaign aims to celebrate nostalgia, personal experiences, and emotional connections through storytelling, while encouraging positive audience participation and interaction. Eligible participants will stand a chance to win exciting prizes.
Terms & Conditions
Organizer: Shory.com / Shory (the “Organizer”)
1. Organizer
1.1 This campaign (“Campaign”) is organized by Shory.com / Shory (“Organizer”).
1.2 This Campaign is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Instagram/Meta or TikTok. By participating, you release Instagram/Meta and TikTok from any responsibility.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Entry is open to UAE residents aged 18 years or above at the time of participation.
2.2 Participants may submit their own childhood photographs or images of any object, location, building, or individual that evokes or relates to their childhood memories and is relevant to the story being shared. Participants may also tag any featured individuals appearing in the submitted content.
2.3 Where any individual appearing, identifiable, or otherwise featured in an entry was under 18 years of age at the time the photograph or content was taken or created, the participant must not submit the entry unless: (a) if such individual is still under 18 years of age at the time of submission, the participant is the parent or legal guardian of that minor, or has obtained the prior explicit written consent of that minor’s parent or legal guardian; or (b) if such individual is 18 years of age or older at the time of submission, the participant has obtained that individual’s prior explicit written consent. The participant is solely responsible for obtaining and retaining all required consents and proof of authority, and Shory shall have the right to request copies of any such consents, proof of age, proof of guardianship, or other supporting evidence at any time.
2.4 The entry may be posted from the Instagram or TikTok account and @getShory must be tagged on the post.
2.5 Employees of the Organizer, its affiliated agencies, partners, and any entities directly involved in the administration or execution of the Campaign, as well as their immediate family members, shall not be eligible to win any prizes under the Campaign. However, such individuals may participate in the Campaign on a non-competitive basis.
3. Campaign Period
3.1 The Campaign runs from June 1, 2026 at 12:00 AM to August 15, 2026 at 11:59 PM (“Campaign Period”). Entries will be accepted until July 18, 2026. Voting period is July 18, 2026 to July 31, 2026.
3.2 The Campaign Period shall include all promotional activities, the submission of entries, and the announcement of winners.
4. How to Enter
4.1 To enter, the entrant can post up to five (5) photos or videos on Instagram or TikTok during the Campaign Period, and must:
• Include a short childhood story as the caption;
• Tag @getShory directly on the photos or videos using Instagram’s ‘Tag people’ feature. Tags in captions or comments will not be accepted;
• Mention #EveryChildhoodHasAStory as the caption title. Use only one hashtag; and
• Follow Shory’s Instagram @getshory and TikTok @getshory.
4.2 The entrant’s Instagram or TikTok account must be set to public during the Campaign Period and until winners are announced, so the Organizer can view and verify the entry.
4.3 The Organizer may repost selected entries on its Instagram or TikTok channels. Reposting is not guaranteed for every entry.
4.4 No purchase is necessary to enter, unless explicitly stated otherwise in Campaign communications.
5. Content Rules
5.1 All submitted content must be original and must not infringe any third-party rights, including music, images, video clips, logos, or trademarks.
5.2 Entrants must have full rights and permissions to post all individuals featured in the content, including proper parental or guardian consent for any minors appearing in the submission.
5.3 AI-generated, digitally altered, or synthetic content shall be permitted, provided that such content complies with all applicable content guidelines, accurately represents or is based on a genuine childhood experience or memory, and does not contain, depict, promote, or otherwise reference violence, harmful conduct, illegal activity, hate speech, explicit material, or any other inappropriate or prohibited content as determined by the Organizer in its sole discretion.
5.4 All content must be family-friendly and must not include hate speech, harassment, illegal activity, or any unsafe behaviour.
5.5 The Organizer may reject or remove any entry at its discretion if it breaches these Terms or is otherwise deemed inappropriate.
5.6 The Organizer reserves the irrevocable right to use, reproduce, publish, distribute, display, and otherwise exploit any videos, photographs, or other materials submitted by participants, in whole or in part, for promotional, marketing, advertising, public relations, and other related commercial purposes, in any media now known or hereafter developed, without further notice or compensation to the participant.
6. Proof of Identity & Consent Verification
6.1 The Organizer may request proof of:
• The entrant’s identity and UAE residency;
• Parental or guardian consent / supporting evidence / written consents, for any minor featured in the submitted content; and/or
• That the content is original and genuinely depicts the entrant or the Featured Individual.
6.2 Failure to provide requested proof within 72 hours of the request may result in disqualification.
6.3 Selected entrants may be required to provide their valid email addresses for the purpose of crediting and administering Shory credits and/or related rewards.
7. Winner Selection
7.1 The Campaign will select top ten (10) entries (“Selected Entries”) for the prize as described in Section 8.
7.2 Selection will be based on a combination of:
• Engagement: likes and comments on the Organizer’s reposted entry (the designated campaign post, as determined by the Organizer); and
• Internal Jury Review: the Organizer’s internal panel will consider brand fit, originality, creativity, and overall appeal.
7.3 The Organizer reserves the right to:
• Verify engagement and remove suspicious or fraudulent activity;
• Disqualify entries that use fake likes or comments, bots, purchased engagement, engagement rings, or any form of manipulation; and
• Make the final and binding decision in all matters related to winner selection.
7.4 The ten (10) finalists, as selected by Shory in its sole discretion, shall be published on Shory’s official TikTok, Instagram, and/or website platforms for the purpose of final voting. The finalist whose entry receives the highest number of valid votes, as determined by Shory, shall be declared the winner and awarded a Mercedes-Benz, subject to the applicable terms and conditions.
8. Prizes
8.1 Every week, one selected entry will each receive AED 10K (“Prize”).
8.2 One (1) eligible entry, selected from among the top ten (10) finalists, shall be awarded a Mercedes-Benz (the “Grand Prize”), subject to these Terms and Conditions. The winner shall be the finalist whose entry receives the highest number of valid user votes, as determined by Shory in its sole discretion.
8.3 Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and not redeemable for cash.
8.4 The Organizer may substitute prizes with items of similar or equivalent value if necessary.
8.5 Shory reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to amend, vary, modify, add to, or withdraw these Terms and Conditions (in whole or in part) at any time without prior notice. Any such amendments will be effective immediately upon publication.
9. Liability & Safety
9.1 The Organizer is not responsible for entries not received due to technical issues, Instagram or TikTok outages, privacy settings, or network failures.
9.2 Entrants are solely responsible for obtaining all necessary rights and consents for any individuals, including minors, featured in their submitted content.
9.3 The Organizer, Shory, and each of their respective affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, representatives, service providers, partners, sponsors, and advertising or promotional agencies shall have no liability whatsoever for any loss, damage, injury, claim, cost, expense, or liability suffered or incurred by any participant or any third party arising out of or in connection with the Campaign, including participation in the Campaign, the submission, publication, display, use, sharing, reposting, editing, or other exploitation of any entry or content, any alleged or actual breach, infringement, misuse, or violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, image rights, moral rights, confidentiality rights, or personal data rights, any Campaign-related activities, winner selection, prize fulfilment, or the acceptance, possession, use, misuse, loss, delay, substitution, or non-delivery of any prize.
9.4 Each participant is solely responsible for their entry and any content submitted, uploaded, shared, or otherwise provided in connection with the Campaign, including ensuring that such entry and content do not infringe, breach, misuse, or violate any rights of any person or entity. The Organizer and Shory shall not be responsible for verifying the ownership, accuracy, legality, permissions, licences, releases, or consents relating to any entry or content, and may rely on the participant’s representations, warranties, and confirmations in this regard.
10. Disqualification
10.1 The Organizer may disqualify any entrant who:
• Breaches any of these Terms and Conditions;
• Provides false or misleading information;
• Cannot verify their identity or provide required consents;
• Manipulates engagement metrics; or
• Behaves in a manner that harms the Organizer’s reputation, other participants, or the safety or dignity of any individual featured in the content.
11. Privacy
11.1 The Organizer will use personal information submitted by entrants for the purposes of administering the Campaign, contacting winners, and promotional use as described in these Terms, in accordance with applicable laws and the Organizer’s privacy practices.
12. General
12.1 The Organizer may update, suspend, or cancel the Campaign at any time at its sole discretion and/or due to circumstances beyond its control or where required for legal or commercial reasons.
12.2 The Organizer’s decisions are final and binding in all matters related to the Campaign.
12.3 These Terms and Conditions are governed by applicable laws in the UAE.
